The Climate Ride

August 29, 2017

Dear HEET community,In just under a month, I’ll be biking almost 250 miles in 3 days through Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains to raise money for HEET’s Squeaky Leaks campaign as part of my second Climate Ride. Along with four co-workers - Justin Bradley, Amy Kennedy, Holli Kenison, and Raffi Wineburg – we’ve formed an official HEET fundraising team! The premise of the Climate Ride is simple. Each person must raise $2000 to participate in the ride. So far, we’ve raised almost $6000, but we’re aiming for $10,000. We need to raise another $4000 in the next month to participate in the ride and support HEET’s innovative, pioneering work to drastically reduce methane emissions. Can you help?

In addition to raising funds, we’ll be raising awareness about the work the HEET is doing to address the growing gas leak problem. We’ll all be outfitted in these snazzy HEET bike jerseys so that passersby can learn about this important issue. I’m 99% confident that we’ll be the only team with images of gas leaks on our backs. I’ll also be delivering a presentation about HEET’s work to the 120 other participants in this years’ ride.

If you are in a position to donate to our team goal, we would be deeply grateful. Every dollar counts! If you would like to donate to the ride, click here.On behalf of everyone on the HEET fundraising team: thank you for your continued support the work HEET is doing to reduce carbon emissions and bolster the resiliency of our communities.
